Vijay's next movie name either 'Sura or Urimaikural'

Ilayathalapathy Vijay after resent with the Tamilians’ feedback to his political alliance with Congress has dropped those plans as off now. According to actor Vijay, he has confirmed that he has no plans about joining politics and only focus remains ahead with films.

So, after canning his present project ‘Vettaikaran’ on September 15, the actor will commence his next project on September 18 near the shores of Alapuzha Beach, Kerala.

The title of the film produced by Sangli Murugan under Murugan Cine Arts is yet to be decided as there’s a big discussion going on for selecting one amongst ‘Urimai Kural’ and ‘Sura’. According to producer Sangli Murugan he has stated that Vijay’s character name is Sura and he dwells across the slums of coastal region.

Rajinikanth says no to Rahul Gandhi

For the past one week, media circle has been doing some 'good table work' regarding Rahul Gandhi's Tamil Nadu visit and his proposed meeting with Rajinikanth.

But interestingly, it seems that Rajini didn't show any interest in this 'meet' and as usual he is silently watching the drama performed by some unwanted troop around him! In fact the actor is nowadays attending most of the functions happening in the Industry as well as in public. But he is always tight lipped about his political entry.

Yesterday when Rahul Gandhi met the media owners at Chennai, he openly invited Rajini to join hands with Congress Party. He also mentioned like this: "Anyone without criminal records may join the party and 'Rajini is surely not in the negative list'. So I invite him to join the party". Also he mentioned that his invitation to the superstar is 'open and unconditional'.

But what is in the minds of Rajini fans and what they are thinking about this invite? Most of the fans say that Rahul's speech is immature and an unnecessary one at this juncture. A furious fan said, "How dare this guy talk like this at a press meet? He is surely not a matured politician and Rajini will never do a great mistake by joining Congress!"

Rajini's fans community has been requesting their matinee idol to get into active politics for the past 12 years and the actor had assured them about a discussion on his political entry only after the release of Endhiran. So naturally they didn't like Rahul's invitation to the actor and wish that their Thalaivar would launch a new party after the release of Endhiran.

On the other hand, the actor is not showing any interest in meeting Rahul Gandhi now. When someone from Congress party approached Rajini regarding this meet, he simply said that he is busy with the final works of his magnum opus Endhiran - The Robot!

Vijay's move on politics

Amidst speculation that Vijay is all set to enter politics, the actor hosted a press meet on September 13, 2009 at JS Kalyana Mandapam.

Vijay has made it clear that he has no intention to enter politics and would like to concentrate on films. Though, the actor reiterated that his welfare activities would continue through his fans’ clubs as always.

He further added that he wants to strengthen the Makkal Iyyakkam. Vijay said anyone who works for the welfare of world Tamil population, will definitely get his support and he would even consider joining hands with them in the future.

Rahul Invites Rajini to politics

The All India Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi said that Rajinikanth is more than welcome to join the party. He said that Congress has devised an open policy to strengthen the party. Anyone who is not a criminal or a religious fanatic could join the Congress he reiterated.

Rahul said that he would be very happy to have Rajini on board as he is a man without any criminal records.

On his meeting with Ilayathalapathi Vijay, Rahul said that the actor wanted to know about the policies devised for strengthening the party and bringing in the youth.

Vijay's quiet on Rahul visit

Looks like Rahul Gandhi’s Tamil Nadu visit has evinced as much interest among politicians as it had on Vijay’s meeting with the Congress General Secretary a while ago in Delhi. Although it was widely speculated that Vijay would join the Congress party, no confirmed news was made available after the meeting.

Rahul is now touring Tamil Nadu and is expected to attend a conference in Coimbatore today addressing his party members. Congress sources aver that Vijay will join the party officially tomorrow in Coimbatore on the occasion. However, no official announcement is available from the Vijay stable as yet in this regard.

Vijay's Appology

Vijay issued an unconditional apology today with regard to the Sivakasi issue that was dragged to the court earlier by a section of lawyers. They alleged that Vijay made disparaging remarks about the profession in his movie and demanded that he apologize for the denigration.

Putting an end to the dispute that went for months, Vijay today apologized in a letter through his lawyer. He mentioned that he had no intention to hurt the sentiments of the professional lawyers and that he infact had portrayed a lawyer’s role in his movie Tamizhan. Besides, the letter also stated that the scenes deemed contentious by the lawyers were removed from the movie while it was still playing in theaters.

Latest update on Vijay's political

In an explicit gesture to demonstrate his interest in a political career, Vijay stated that if fans willed, his fan club would transform into a political party. Vijay was addressing a gathering in Pudukottai at an event organized by his fan association, Vijay Makkal Iyakkam. He also inaugurated a computer training center and some welfare schemes at the event.

He requested his fans to strengthen the fan club membership to one lakh in each district which will pave way to the transformation of the association into a political party. “Only you can make it happen,” he added. The event was attended by his father S. A. Chandrasekhar and other fan club members of the area.

Ilayathalapthi’s answer to his fans

Ilayathalapthi Vijay celebrates his birthday today. The actor, as usual, began the day by doing a number of philanthropic deeds. The first among them was the inauguration of two computer centers, one at Rangarajapuram in Kodambakkam and the other at Arunachalam Street in Saligramam.

Later, the actor inaugurated a medical camp at the JS Marriage Hall in Kumaran Colony. Vijay also conducted Anna Dhanam for about 1000 people at the Vadapalani Temple in Chennai.

Speaking to the reporters, he said that despite several hardships, his fans manage to do these activities every year on his birthday. He lauded their efforts and urged them to get the good work going.

The most important question that has been lurking in the minds of Vijay’s fans – whether he will enter politics – was answered by the actor himself. The Ilayathalapthi revealed that it is true that he is considering entering politics and had conducted a research in various districts on the possibilities of winning. The actor added that the decision and announcement would be made soon.
