Prakashraj's Press meet about National Award

Prakash Raj, the 55th Best Actor National Award winner, met the press persons at the GRT Convention Hall in Chennai today. Speaking to them, Prakash Raj said that he is happy that he won the national award. The actor said that he was well aware that Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Sathyaraj were also in the race, and being honored with the coveted award for his performance in Kancheevaram does not mean that others have not proved their mettle, but would get their chance in the subsequent years.

The actor said that he visited the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi to seek his blessings. During that occasion, the CM said that he was very happy because two of the icons that he worshipped dearly – Arignar Anna and Periyar – have been honored by the Central government. It is worth a mention here that Kancheevaram is the home town of Anna and the film Periyar, in which Sathyaraj had starred, also bagged an award for the best regional language film.

Prakash Raj also revealed that he met his mentor and guru ace director Balachander at his residence to seek his blessings. The actor said it was a Sishyan’s duty to seek the blessings of his guru on a great achievement.
