Prakashraj's Press meet about National Award

Prakash Raj, the 55th Best Actor National Award winner, met the press persons at the GRT Convention Hall in Chennai today. Speaking to them, Prakash Raj said that he is happy that he won the national award. The actor said that he was well aware that Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Sathyaraj were also in the race, and being honored with the coveted award for his performance in Kancheevaram does not mean that others have not proved their mettle, but would get their chance in the subsequent years.

The actor said that he visited the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi to seek his blessings. During that occasion, the CM said that he was very happy because two of the icons that he worshipped dearly – Arignar Anna and Periyar – have been honored by the Central government. It is worth a mention here that Kancheevaram is the home town of Anna and the film Periyar, in which Sathyaraj had starred, also bagged an award for the best regional language film.

Prakash Raj also revealed that he met his mentor and guru ace director Balachander at his residence to seek his blessings. The actor said it was a Sishyan’s duty to seek the blessings of his guru on a great achievement.

Divya does trisha's charactor

Prakash Raj had always maintained that Abhiyum Naanum, which he had produced, will remain close to his heart. The film had Trisha play Prakash Raj’s daughter and beautifully etches out the relationship between a father and daughter.

Soon after the success of the film in Tamil, it was decided to remake it in Kannada and this time around Prakash Raj decided to don the director’s cap himself. The groundwork for the remake has been completed. As per our sources Divya Spandana has been roped in to play the role that Trisha had portrayed in Tamil.

Abhiyum Naanum had catapulted the star status of Trisha several notches up because it had ample scope for her to perform. With Divya taking up the same role, it needs to seen if it works wonders in her career too.

Prakash Raj is baddie in Pokkiri remake

Actor Prakash Raj has been multi-faceted performer much adhered to all kinds of characterizations. He has been getting through a perfect balance of both commercial and offbeat flicks. Perhaps, he’s ennobled as ‘Jack of all trades’ when it comes to tinsel town. A fantastic filmmaker, producer, performer mastering various languages.

But he’s quite worried with filmmakers offering him stereotypical roles as a harsh villain. Recently, he had completed shooting for Pokkiri’s Hindi remake ‘Wanted Dead or Alive’ starring Salman Khan in lead role. it’s notable that earlier he had performed the antagonist in Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Aishwarya Rai starrer ‘Khakee’.
