Quick Gun Murugan (QGM) is the talk of the town now. This film, directed by Sashanka Ghosh, features Telugu actor Rajendra Prasad in the lead role supported by Rambha as Mango Dolly with an outlandish headgear. Ghosh says that the film was created some 15 years ago for the promotion of Channel V and the script was even narrated to Ram Gopal Verma who was not sure how to take it further.
QGM is releasing on 28th August and is produced by Fox Star Studios. Imitation of this character was earlier seen in Om Shanti Om when Shah Rukh Khan said ‘mind it’ and made everyone including the ravishing Deepika Padukone laugh. Indian cricket star Dhoni had also tried to ape QGM in an advertisement.
QGM is a film promoting vegetarianism and the hero, the ‘cow’boy is fighting to save his cowherd from the villain who wants to create a McDosa Chain of hotels using beef. According to Rajendra Prasad, he has drawn inspiration from the legendary MGR to play this character. QGM also has in its star cast Anu Lolla Kutty as Locket Lover, Raju Sundaram as Rowdy MBA and Nasser as Rice Plate Reddy among others.
