Looks like there is finally respite for Velu Prabhakaran’s Kadhal Arangam. After years of his not-so-silent cold war with the censor board officials who strongly objected the movie’s explicit content and instructed the director to delete the objectionable scenes, Velu seems to have obliged to their request.
He convened a press meet at Hotel Mathsya, Chennai today to this effect and announced that the movie would release in the month of June. After facing stiff resistance from the officials in Chennai, Prabhakaran attempted to obtain censor certificate from Delhi. However, the Delhi officials did not clear the movie and suggested similar cuts. Kadhal Arangam will now be released under the name Kadhal Kadhai after being toned down for the controversial content, according to the director.
