Actors association's request to CM on Bhuvaneswari issue

The Nadigar Sangam, an association for South Indian Actors, made a mindless appeal to the Chief Minister M Karunanidhi to intervene in the actress Bhuvaneswari brothel case issue.

Very recently popular actress Bhuvaneswari was arrested by the anti - prostitution wing of Chennai Metro police for her involvement in prostitution. She is now remanded in Puzhal Jail. During the inquiry, the actress accepted her involvement in brothel and also handed over a big list of top actresses who are presently involved in the brothel.

The Metro police then leaked out the details of the actresses in the list to the media people and the same has been appearing in the leading dailies and online media for the past 3 days. One of the leading Tamil Dailies published the list with the photographs of the actresses a couple of days ago.

Now Nadigar Sangam has taken up this issue and has made an appeal to the Chief Minister M Karunanidhi who is the head of the state police also. In their appeal the Sangam has requested the CM to 'intervene' in the issue of Bhuvaneswari and 'control' the media from publishing hot news on the prostitution of actresses.

Radha Ravi, the general secretary of Nadigar Sangam had made this appeal through a letter.

Sarathkumar and Radha Ravi will be unopposed selection

Amidst much speculation, it was announced last month that the Nadigar Sangam polls will be held on July 12th. Sarath Kumar, the two-term president of the Sangam, said that he would contest the elections this time too. Likewise, Radha Ravi, the present secretary is in the fray for the same post. The duo have filed their papers to contest the polls.

The last date for submission of nominations is June 18th. So far, no one, other than Sarath and Radha Ravi, have filed their papers. With a majority of the 3000-odd Nadigar Sangam members preferring Sarath and Radha Ravi to stay on, it looks like they could be elected unopposed.
